Lydney train station is less than a 5-minute drive from Bishops Mead heading west to Chepstow and Newport, to the east Gloucester. The A48 runs along the edge of Lydney heading west to Chepstow which then links to the M48. Running alongside the River Severn to the east the A40 outskirts Gloucester, then to the west is Ross-on-Wye.
