Our children’s hospice celebrates its 21st birthday in 2019 and we are at the heart of the community we serve. Our services are delivered by trained and qualified counsellors with a vast experience of working with children dealing with pre and post bereavement.
We have a growing waiting list and for it to succeed and support as many as possible we are desperate for funding for extra counselling.
Beyond functioning as “conversational therapy” counselling is creative, varied and widespread, facilitating children’s ability to explore their feelings through play and have discussions that don’t directly reference their grief. Similarly, teenagers are encouraged to discuss their feelings through arts and crafts therapy, confronting bereavement through their own interests.
