Mudlarks provide exciting, educational Beach School sessions to primary school children in Northumberland. Our Beach School sessions connect children to nature and allow them to experience and learn all about their coast and the plants and creatures who live there.
We firmly believe that children's health and well-being is improved by spending time outside in nature, seeing local species in all seasons and gaining a respect and love for their local wild spaces. Our sessions link to the national curriculum and include local history, creative writing, environmental art and beach cleans. We ask all children to make a pledge of something they could do to help conserve their local wild spaces.
We would spend funds on purchasing equipment to help connect children to nature such as binoculars, field guides, magnifying glasses, pots, nets, trays, tarpaulins, trowels and litter pickers.
