During 2016 our Combat to Construction (C2C) initiative has continued to expand both in terms of its scale and scope. Persimmon has entered into an agreement with Gateshead College for it to provide all of the formal training for the programme in the future. The college has an ‘Outstanding’ assessment from OFSTED and its facilities and expertise in the construction sector provide the ideal environment for participants in the scheme. Completion of the course results in an NVQ Level 2, an apprenticeship in their chosen discipline and an exciting career with Persimmon.  We have 49 employees who have so far successfully completed their training.

The quality of C2C and the career opportunities Persimmon has to offer continue to be recognised by the Ministry of Defence, which has made Persimmon an approved employer, allowing us to advertise our vacancies on the Career Transition Partnership website. We continue to receive a high number of applications from service personnel.
