    Blandford St Mary is located approximately 14 miles from Poole, 24 miles from Salisbury and 17 miles from Dorchester. The nearest train stations can be found in Poole to the south and Gillingham to the north. There are also regular bus services from the village across the local and wider area with bus stops within a 5-minute walk of Fair Mile Rise.

    The A303 is approximately 20 miles northwards from the village via the A350; from here the A303 provides access to the west and east to the M3 (56 miles) and then onto the M25.
