Land Manager – Swansea
Persimmon Homes West Wales has a vacancy for a Land Manager to join their successful and growing land and planning team. This role is based in the regional office in Swansea with a geographical area operating across West Wales and parts of South Wales.
Who are we?
Building around 16,500 beautifully designed new homes a year in more than 350 prime locations nationwide; Persimmon is one of the UK’s leading house-builders, committed to the highest standards of design, construction and service. We believe our quality really differentiates us from the competition. In fact, our reputation is built on quality. We build quickly and efficiently and expect a lot from our office and site teams, however in turn we will reward you for your commitment and hard work and recognise your contribution to the business.
As a Land Manager you will primarily identify and assess land opportunities against company criteria and assist in planning, technical and financial appraisal of sites. Your duties will include the close coordination of information for offers to be made on sites and collating information from external consultants and internal departments in order that offers are made on time.
You will report to the Land and Planning Director. It is quite a flat hierarchy at Persimmon. The Land Director will support and develop you in the way Persimmon operate, empowering you to run with deals, but always on hand to discuss areas for improvement. They will give you clear objectives. You will need to learn to be adaptable and strong in your management style with a consistent approach with internal architects, engineers, surveyors and external consultants and land owners.
If this sounds appealing to you we will require:
A sufficient level of land buying expertise with an excellent knowledge of land agents in the designated areas and the local planning environment. You will have proven experience of finding sites and putting deals together. Someone who is self motivated, asks questions, wants to progress and has a good work ethic. Confidence and numeracy with proven negotiation skills are essential for this role. A degree in a relevant property related subject is highly desirable.
What is in it for you?
A competitive salary and benefits package including a contributory pension, life insurance, company car / car allowance, healthcare, fuel card and a generous bonus. Above all an honest, driven approach that offers the chance to work with some great people in a challenging environment!
Persimmon offer flexible working arrangements with the agreement of the Head of Department.
