Persimmon Homes South East has a vacancy for an experienced Land Manager with an immediate start for the right candidate. This post will be based at our offices in Maidstone.

Reporting to the head of department your key responsibilities will be (but not limited to):
Identifying sites through a network of local agents, landowners and contacts, you will undertake initial appraisals of these assessing the local residential market, build costs, abnormal costs and planning gain contributions, leading to a formal valuation and offer to the landowner.
Enter into negotiation and subsequent agreement on the land value resulting in formal heads of terms being agreed with the landowner.
Instruct consultants / solicitors to undertake the necessary due diligence prior to acquisition.
Enter into negotiations with the Local Planning Authority to secure the necessary planning consents and section agreements to facilitate development of the site.
Co-ordinate and oversee the land and consultants’ budgets.
Qualifications / Experience
Knowledge and experience of all aspects of the immediate and strategic land acquisition process for residential development, along with a working knowledge of the planning system through to an implementable consent are essential.
You should also be able to demonstrate a full understanding of the viability process and cash-flows, along with being fully conversant with the legal processes associated with residential development.
You will have held the position of Land Manager or Senior Land Manager for a house builder in order to fully understand the processes and expectations of the position.
Degree is essential.
The role requires a confident, strong and experienced Land Manager with proven acquisition skills with the ability to be proactive and tenacious in a fast paced business environment.
Computer literacy on the MS suite is essential and experience of COINS is desirable.
People and line management skills to ensure the team is performing at optimum levels.
