Planning Manager Full Time

Persimmon Homes Severn Valley based in Portishead, North Somerset, require a motivated and enthusiastic Planning Manager or Senior Planner to join their technical team.
The role reports to the Technical Director and will involve taking a leading role in the preparation and management of a range of major residential planning applications. The role will be responsible for negotiating legal agreements, discharging planning conditions and assisting the land team in supporting the promotion of new land opportunities, preparing representations on planning policy documents, and assisting with planning appeals. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of planning work.

Persimmon Homes have 31 regional offices and employs a large number of planners throughout the UK. Support is available for continued CPD and training to aid career development.

Qualifications/ Experience

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hard-working and will have a sound knowledge of the planning system. Ideally, you will have residential developer or planning consultancy experience in preparing and submitting residential planning applications or local government development management experience. However, candidates from a planning policy background who can demonstrate the transferable skills required to undertake this role will be considered.
Candidates should hold a town planning degree and also be a chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Candidates should be able to demonstrate where they have helped to develop people in their current and/or past roles. This senior role will require the successful candidate to show how they can use their skills to develop planning graduates and also add value to other members of the land and planning team.

Skills

You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as being a team player and have a high level of computer literacy. A driving licence is essential for this role.
