The original oak wood, from which the area is named, is now called Chaddesden Wood Nature Reserve and is the only ancient oak woodland in Derby. Close to Lime Tree Court, residents can enjoy the half-mile long nature trail, especially in spring when the wood is carpeted in bluebells.
