You’ll find plenty here to keep the family busy: for a step back in history visit the Heritage Centre and the outstanding Atwell Wilson Motor Museum, or enjoy a stroll around the attractive gardens and riverside walks at the Castlefields Canal & River Park. Calne town centre is home to a variety of shops, pubs and entertainment venues, whilst retaining the character of its market town history. Just 20 miles west of the town is the famous city of Bath, with its huge choice of shopping opportunities, restaurants and nightlife.
Calne is just over 10 miles from the M4 motorway, providing excellent national road links. It connects with the M5 at Bristol for the South West and North West, and with the M25 for London. Chippenham train station can be reached in approximately 15 minutes by car, offering connections to Bath, Bristol, Swindon and London Paddington. There’s a good local bus service throughout the town itself, with routes to the local villages and towns. The closest airport is Bristol which provides both national and international flights.
