An exciting day for buyer’s at Cardea

A couple from Peterborough made their move in day a cause for double celebration by becoming engaged.

George Griffin and his partner of two-and-a-half years, Rebecca Kelly, recently got the keys for their first property together, a three-bedroom Hatfield style home at Cardea in Peterborough, and George set the wheels in motion to make it an extra special day.

George, a chef, said: “Rebecca had no idea what was about to happen. She excited to be moving in on the day, but I wanted to create a day we would truly never forget.”

“I’d already spoken to Louise, the sales advisor at Cardea, and she had agreed to help with my plans.”

“Louise arranged for me to be in the house on my own when Rebecca arrived for our new home demonstration. She was shocked to say the least when I went down on one knee. It was a special moment for both of us, although I think Rebecca thought I was just being soppy about having our new home when she saw rose petals and champagne.”

Rebecca, who was stunned by the proposal, added: “I had no idea what George had been planning. Getting the keys to the new house was exciting enough but the proposal guaranteed it became a day we would never forget.”

George and Rebecca, both 25, chose their new home in Cardea after spending months looking at different properties on the market.

Rebecca, a teacher, said: “We both love our new home and everyone at Persimmon Homes has been great throughout the whole process – even down to helping George set up the proposal!”

The pair now plan to settle down in their new home and save up for the big day.

Rebecca, a teacher, added: “We’ve certainly got some saving to do now, but we are so happy with our new home and engagement.

Sales advisor Louise Russell added: “We wish George and Rebecca all the very best for their future and we were delighted to be able to help them on their special day.”
