Nottingham region gives £2,000 cash boost to Sutton-in-Ashfield community café
23 March 2023
A key Sutton-in-Ashfield community hub has received a funding boost from our Nottingham region.
Teversal Visitors Centre and Café, based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, received the £2,000 grant as part of our Community Champions initiative, helping to leave a lasting legacy in local communities.
Debbie Halfpenny at Teversal Visitors Centre and Café said: “We’re thrilled to receive this generous backing from Persimmon Homes. It’ll make a huge difference.
We try to cater for all people in the community through different groups and activities. Our summer holiday programme for families was such a joy and we would like to continue to deliver as many free activities as we can in 2023.
We'll be putting this donation towards revitalising our outside area with some new benches, some signage for nature trails and to tidy up our garden which has pit trucks for flowers and information boards.”
Tom Baskett, Sales Director at Nottingham region, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Teversal Visitors Centre and Café with this money.
“This location provides a key place for people in and around Sutton-in-Ashfield to meet, make friends and get involved in group activities, so it’s a real privilege to be able to show our support to them. We’re looking forward to seeing the funds put to good use in the outdoor areas.”
