Persimmon Homes

Sitting on the sunny south coast of East Sussex, Bexhill, or Bexhill-on-Sea, is a bustling and friendly coastal town with so much going for it. As British seaside towns go, this one certainly stands out – Victorian terraced houses sit alongside the eye-catching modernist pavilion; the charming promenade of gift shops and cafes is in addition to a wide range of supermarkets and high street shops; Bob Marley played his first ever UK gig here, and it was also the site of the first British motor race. There really is something for everyone in Bexhill! Newcomers can benefit from great family-friendly facilities, a range of outdoor activities and nature spots, plus transport links along the coast and into London.

Good range of shops

The Ravenside Retail & Leisure Park is to the east of Bexhill-on-Sea, where you’ll find a selection of large brands. The lively town centre offers a fantastic range of high street shops, and for your everyday shopping there’s Lidl, Sainsbury’s, Tesco Express, ALDI and Iceland. For a wider choice of retail options, the Priory Meadow shopping centre is just 6 miles away in Hastings.

When you tire of shopping there are many mouth-watering eateries to sample, including bars and restaurants along the seafront.

Fabulous seaside location

The coastal location of Bexhill means there are plenty of activities to enjoy. Stroll along the attractive promenade to take in the sea air, enjoy a picnic on the beach, or try the 1066 Country Walk – a scenic 31-mile long route. Children will love visiting Egerton Park, with its boating lake, activities and play area, and for a dose of culture you can attend one of the many events hosted at the De La Warr Pavilion.

Education for all

Families will appreciate the wide range of schooling options in Bexhill. There’s a number of nurseries and primary schools in the town itself, with a wider selection in the surrounding area, plus several secondary schools including ‘Outstanding’ St Richard’s Catholic College, plus Glyne Gap School for children with special educational needs (also Outstanding). For further education there’s Bexhill Sixth Form College, and the University of Brighton has a campus at nearby Eastbourne.

Handy transport links

Bexhill benefits from good transport links from the train station, with routes to Brighton, Eastbourne, London Victoria and Ashford International. Gatwick, Heathrow and London City airports are all within easy reach. The nearest port is Dover just over an hour and half away, and there are good road links with the A259 heading east to Hastings, Pevensey and then Eastbourne. The nearest motorways are the M23 and M20, north of Bexhill.
