Persimmon Homes

When your city comes first in The Sunday Times Best Places to Live in Scotland 2019, and is the UK’s only UNESCO City of Design, you know you’re on to a winner. Dundee is a culturally exciting, much-improved and yet still affordable place to set up home. Packed full of history and art, along with great shopping, industry and transport links, it’s an attractive city with so much to offer. The historic city enjoys a great location on the north bank of the Firth of Tay. Situated just above the Kingdom of Fife with its colourful fishing villages and glorious beaches, this region is perfect for young professionals and families. Businesses are setting up home in the city, providing jobs and commerce, plus there’s a choice of well-respected schools for children of all ages including the world-renowned University of Dundee.

A city of creativity

The city has undergone extensive regeneration in recent years and is now a vibrant place to live and work. It hosts the V&A Dundee (the only V&A museum outside London), the impressive McManus Art Gallery and Museum, Dundee Contemporary Art and HMS Unicorn, all fantastic cultural venues. And, as the birthplace of iconic entertainment media including Grand Theft Auto, Lemmings, the Beano and the Dandy, it’s no wonder Dundee holds the title of the UK’s first and only UNESCO City of Design.

Fantastic shopping and amenities

The city boasts a great range of shops, including those at Overgate Shopping Centre and Wellgate Centre, as well as numerous popular chain shops independent stores in the attractive city centre. You’ll also find an impressive range of eateries, from fine dining to world cuisine and tasty pub grub. Children and grown-ups alike can stay active at the Ancrum Outdoor Centre which offers a range of outdoor pursuits, at one of the many leisure centres in and around the city, or by heading to the nearest golf course, of which there are several.

Good transport links

Its proximity to the A90 makes Dundee an excellent base for commuting north to Forfar, Brechin, Stonehaven and Aberdeen, or south to Perth and Edinburgh. The city has its own airport with daily services to London, plus a train station – both perfect for commuting or trips further afield.
