Persimmon Homes

Keynsham

Keynsham seems to have it all. It’s an old market town with a contemporary twist and a great atmosphere. It’s in a key position between Bristol and Bath, on a key road linking these two famous cities, and is an ideal place to bring up a family, travel to work, or retire to. A new home here will have excellent local amenities, very easy access to city life, and lovely riverside and country walks without having to get in the car.

Location location

The A4 Bath Road bypasses the town. It’s only 5 miles into the heart of the city, via the suburb of Brislington. Bath’s town centre is 8 miles away, and there’s a very convenient Park & Ride when you come off the A4 onto the A36. The B3116 links the town with the A39 Wells Road to the south. A 10-minute journey from Keynsham by train gets you to Bristol Temple Meads, or in the other direction, and the same time, to Bath Spa station. There’s a frequent bus service between the two as well. Getting off the ground for business or pleasure couldn’t be easier, as Bristol Airport is just 11 miles away.

On the doorstep

This is a family-friendly town with excellent shops and services. It’s always good to shop local but for back-up Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose are in town. There’s a thriving café culture here too, with great places to meet up with friends. The Memorial Park is a lovely green space, quite apart from the events that it hosts each year, including the Festival of Music. The River Chew and the River Avon are ideal for peaceful riverside walks, and there’s a cycle path to Bath.

School life

In addition to the choice of nursery, pre-school and primary schools, the Wellsway School takes pupils from 11 – 18 years, and Broadlands Academy, takes pupils from 11 – 16 years. The IKB Academy has a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths, and takes students from 14 – 19 years, with GCSE’s, A Levels and BTECs alongside work placements.

City life

With Bristol and Bath so close, you’ll have every opportunity to enjoy history, culture, shopping, sport, and leisure. Between the two, days out and nights out are sorted out. Both city centres are within walking distance of their train stations, so you don’t have to worry about finding somewhere to park the car.
