Persimmon Homes

Mansfield is a Nottinghamshire town that means business. It’s the biggest town in the Mansfield urban area and recent regeneration projects have made sure that it’s a still a market town in the true sense, keeping the historic Market Place and a traditional market at its heart. With great connections to Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derby, Nottingham, Newark-on-Trent and Worksop, and great local amenities, a new home here is in the right place for a good work life balance.

Transport links

It’s a short drive to the M1, making the connection through the heart of England with the East Midlands, Yorkshire and London. Several major A routes, the A38, A6191, A60 and A617, link with each other around the town. Travel to the area’s main towns by train is another option, with an average journey time to Nottingham of just over 30 minutes. The town has a bus station with regular services from Stagecoach and National Express. The bus journey to Nottingham takes about three-quarters of an hour. There’s a direct link to London St Pancras too, taking under 4 hours. For flights, East Midlands Airport is 22 miles away.

Getting the shopping

Mansfield is a great centre for shops, with national brands and local independent stores too. As well as the town centre options, the Four Seasons Shopping Centre and the 24-hour Tesco Extra will cover all that you need. Mansfield is the largest retail centre for Nottinghamshire after Nottingham and the balance of market town and high street is well-established. You can head for the large retail venues of St Peter’s Park and the Rosemary Centre or you can wander in the little streets off the historic Market Place.

Going to school

A town of this size has plenty of options for going to school. In addition to the range of primary schools, The Brunts Academy and the Queen Elizabeth Academy offer secondary education. Vision West Nottinghamshire College, in partnership with Nottingham Trent University, offers A levels, vocational, further education and adult education courses.

Enjoying yourself

From sport to cinema, Mansfield has plenty of options. The ODEON Cinema and the Water Meadows Swimming & Fitness Centre are close to the town centre. Out and about the Sherwood Pines Forest Park and the National Trust’s Hardwick Hall are not far. For a complete change of scenery, the Peak District National Park is less than an hour’s drive away.
