Persimmon Homes

This is certainly a unique place to live. Selsey is a small West Sussex town right on the tip of its own South Coast peninsula overlooking the Solent and the English Channel. The beaches of East Wittering, yacht-filled Chichester Harbour, the seaside resort of Bognor Regis - the list of local places of interest goes on, creating a wonderful backdrop for Selsey’s residents all year round. This quiet rural corner of the West Sussex coastline stands apart from the busy port cities of Portsmouth and Southampton. 8 miles inland, Chichester is the starting point for the main route from east to west, the A27 – which becomes the M27 just beyond Portsmouth. The motorway then links with the A3(M) and the M3, neighbouring Hampshire’s main motorway routes into Surrey and Greater London.

Local amenities

Selsey has plenty of local shops and places to eat out. It’s also got a national supermarket for all those extras. As it only takes 20 minutes to drive into Chichester, you’ll be able to make the most of all the shops there, both high street and independent. It’s a lovely place for a browse and a coffee. For school-age children, there are two primary schools and a secondary school which contribute to the family-friendly atmosphere of the town.

Living by the sea

Living here is very much about the water – being next to it or on it! Chichester Harbour is famous for its sailing community and is also an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Selsey has its own beaches but just a short distance away you’ve got Bracklesham Bay and the sandy beach at East Wittering. In the other direction, Pagham and Aldwick beaches lead the way to the resort of Bognor Regis.

Getting from A to B

The A27/M27 is a busy but essential route through West Sussex and Hampshire for both Portsmouth and Southampton. As an alternative to driving, you can get a train from Chichester Station. Services connect you with Brighton and London Victoria as well as to Portsmouth and Southampton. It takes just an hour and a half to get up to London by train.
