Persimmon Homes

What a great place to live. Beautiful countryside, a short drive from Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick, and with friendly local facilities, including a primary school with a day nursery, to make you feel welcome at your new home. There is more of a small town feel here, though Wellesbourne is referred to as a village, but that’s a good indication of the atmosphere and the local economy that make this a popular place to be.

Living here

The primary school brings the community together and Wellesbourne Church of England Primary and Nursery School has a great Ofsted report. It has ties with Kineton High School and Stratford High School. Wellesbourne has some lovely local shops, convenience stores and cafés. There’s a Sainsbury’s and a Co-op. Best of all is the Airfield Market. Open every Saturday and on Summer Bank Holidays, it’s one of the UK’s largest outdoor markets.

Getting around

Wellesbourne is on the A429, the key road which joins the M40 outside Warwick. The A429 is also the main route right across the Cotswolds and all the way to Cirencester. This is a lovely rural area, and a network of country roads connect with the smaller villages and with Stratford-upon-Avon. Once you’re on the M40, it takes about 2 hours to drive to London, and less than an hour to reach Birmingham and Birmingham Airport. The nearest train station is Stratford-upon-Avon, less than 3 miles away

Enjoying yourself

Strolling around Stratford-upon-Avon and going to the theatre are top of the ‘what to do nearby’ list. Royal Leamington Spa is often called a mini-London for its Georgian and Regency buildings and upmarket shopping, and you can be in the Cotswolds in half an hour. Closer to home, the Wellesbourne Leisure Centre has a gym and fitness suite, and a floodlit multi-use games area for five-a-side football or rugby, and tennis and netball courts. The beautiful surroundings of the National Trust’s Charlecote Park are close-by, between Wellesbourne and Stratford.
