Persimmon Homes

Yeovil is one of Somerset’s larger towns, and you'll find excellent local amenities to go with it. Easy access to the countryside and the famous Jurassic Coast, to Bristol and Bath, and being right on the border with Dorset, are some of the great reasons for you to move to a new home here. This is a family-friendly town in a very good location, with great connections.

Living here

Yeovil is having a growth spurt at the moment, making it an exciting place for families to set up home. The town centre has two main shopping streets, with a mix of high street stores, independent shops and supermarkets. There’s a regular open-air market and a great leisure complex, and best of all, these facilities are all within walking distance of each other. Yeovil District Hospital is central to the town too

Getting around

You’ll have no problem getting out and about. The town is on the A37 between Bristol and Dorchester and there’s a quick link to the A303 - a great alternative to the M5 for travelling to London or into Devon and Cornwall. There are two train stations, Yeovil Junction on the London Waterloo line, just two miles to the south at Stowford, and Yeovil Pen Mill in the town.

Going to School

As well as a choice of primary schools, Yeovil has three well-thought of secondary schools and Sherborne – just 5 miles away – has some excellent private schools. Yeovil College provides A levels, further education and vocational courses. It also has a higher education University Centre, and the college campus is based close to the town centre.

Enjoying yourself

This is the best bit about a new home – discovering the delights of the area. Highlights in the town are the Yeo Leisure Park which includes Cineworld and Hollywood Bowl, the swimming pools at Goldenstones Leisure Centre and Nine Springs Country Park for walks on your doorstep. If you enjoy sport, Yeovil Town football club is the pride of Somerset. Out of town, South Somerset and West Dorset offer beautiful countryside, country pubs in historic villages and the fabulous Jurassic Coast which is just 20 miles away.
