Kirkcaldy has long been nicknamed the “Lang Toun” (Scots for long town) in reference to the town’s 0.9 mile main street, which is now home to Kirkcaldy’s Links Market; Europe’s longest street fair, with over 200 fairground rides and attractions, held each Easter on the town’s esplanade.
Kirkcaldy boasts a busy town centre, with both independent and chain stores. More notably the very popular Fife Central Retail Park is located only a 5-minute drive from Rosslyn Gait. There is also a 24 hour Asda within walking distance of the development.
Kirkcaldy Galleries is home to the town’s museum & art gallery and central library. The building opened in 1925 but in 2011 was closed to allow a £2.4 million renovation which was completed in June 2013.
