The name ‘Salterns’ was inspired by the early settlement of inhabitants that made a living from farming, fishing, wildfowling and, most importantly, salt making. From the A17 Sleaford/King's Lynn Road, turn right onto Station Road and then left onto Sutton Road. Take the right onto Marshland Street before a slight left onto Wesley Road. Continue onto Chapel Road and then turn left onto The Saltings where you will find the development on the left.
Within the village there is supermarket, farm shop, Post Office, newsagents, bakers, an Indian restaurant, fish & chip shop, Chinese takeaway, hairdressers, small animal vets and a hardware store.
