The historic town of Bishop's Stortford is nestled on the banks of the River Stort in a rural area of Hertfordshire. It’s situated just west of the M11 motorway, on the county boundary with Essex, and just over 30 miles north of central London. It’s also the closest large town to London Stansted Airport and has a direct train to London Liverpool Street reaching the city in less than 40 minutes.

Bishop's Stortford is a historic market town and civil parish in the district of East Hertfordshire in the county of Hertfordshire in England. It's situated just west of the M11 motorway, on the county boundary with Essex, and is the closest large town to London Stansted Airport and part of the London commuter belt.
Bishop's Stortford is 27 miles north-east of Charing Cross in the centre of London and 35 miles from Liverpool Street station where the railway line from Cambridge to London (which runs through the town) terminates.

Head north on M11. At junction 9, take the A11 exit to Newmarket/Norwich. Keep left to continue on Exit 9a, follow signs for A1301/Cambridge/Saffron Walden/B184.
At the roundabout, take the third exit onto A1301, at the next roundabout, take the second exit onto the M11 (S) ramp to London/Stansted Airport.
Continue onto M11 and at junction 8, take the A120 exit to Stansted Airport/Colchester/B. Stortford.
At the roundabout, take the fifth exit onto A120 and at the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on A120, go through 1 roundabout.
At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Hadham Rd/A1250, go through one roundabout and you will arrive at Bishop's Stortford CM23 2QF.
There are several leisure facilities to choose from in the town; Grange Paddocks Leisure is the main leisure centre.

Bishop's Stortford train station links the town to London Liverpool Street along the West Anglia Main Line serviced by National Express East Anglia trains. Services also go to Cambridge, Stratford, Harlow and King's Lynn. There’s also a service to London Stansted Airport which goes via Bishop's Stortford to Liverpool Street.
Regular coach services link Stansted Airport to London, and Luton, Gatwick and Heathrow airports. Services also go into East Anglia, Brighton, and via Cambridge to the Midlands and the North. The local bus service is regular and reliable.
Many health services are widely available, GP services, dentists and opticians are all within easy reach of Bishop's Stortford including the Herts & Essex Hospital.
