For more active entertainment, the region offers a wealth of possibilities. There is a choice of local golf courses just a few miles from Abergavenny. The Monmouthshire Golf Club is set against the beautiful scenery of the Usk Valley while the Wernddu is in one of the most picturesque positions and also has a floodlit driving range.
The nearby River Usk is widely renowned as one of the best salmon rivers in Wales, but if fishing is a little too sedentary, you could explore the outdoors by a different means.
