The club promotes water safety, develops beach lifesaving techniques and encourages active participation in SLS competitions and SLSGB awards. We are committed to producing and developing the next beach lifeguards for the RNLI: seven youth members were employed this year.
A recent ruling from the Surf Life Saving GB means the Nippers and the Youth sections, accommodating 65 eight to 18-year-olds are both in need of new, bigger, boards. The club currently has four.
Our ambition is to offer 10 boards by the end of 2019 and 20 by the end of 2020, allowing our younger members the continued opportunity to compete in regional and national competitions and to qualify as lifeguards. Being awarded the big money would allow us to regenerate for our under 18s.
