Sandwell Young Carers provide guidance and support to children and young people (aged 5-18) whose health, education and social lives are affected because of caring for a dependent family member. During Covid-19 young carers' caring roles increased, reducing their time for studies and friendships. We are committed to ensuring that young carers are recognised and valued, receive support, and are safeguarded against taking on responsibilities which jeopardise their well-being and prevent them from achieving their full potential. Our goal is to employ a Career Volunteer Co-ordinator to assess young carers' needs, develop their self-esteem and confidence, and identify career paths.
