Prestonpans
Known as "Scotland's Mural Town", Prestonpans has a mural trail depicting the town's past, from battles to bar room brawls and miners to minors, men and women executed for witchcraft. The town has a great community, good schools and shops and has a lot to offer.
Your new home in Prestonpans is just eight miles from Edinburgh and takes just 15 minutes to Edinburgh Waverley. Proximity to the A1 also makes commuting by car across the region, easy. While the once lucrative fishing industry with large catches of herring and oysters has gone, the beautiful location and desirability of the area remain.

Prestonpans has Fairtrade status, which means the town supports local businesses and far-flung producers in making trade more sustainable. Walk from your new house to browse the independent shops - if you need a supermarket, they're on hand at nearby Tranent. Then enjoy a coffee in one of the many cafes spread out along the High Street which runs parallel to the coast. Alternatively, pick up a bag of fish & chips and enjoy while gazing out to sea.
