Stonehouse
Stonehouse is an interesting place full of adaptations. There’s a wonderful shop, that was once a cinema kitted out from a ship scrap sale complete with mahogany staircase and chandelier from the RMS Homeric. There is also a handful of 18th century weavers’ cottages with innovative double windows to improve interior light at the loom. And, more recently, disused public buildings have been converted into a community space complete with a café, library and learning centre, with rooms that can be booked out for local clubs and socials.
