Gosforth

One of the most desirable postcodes in Newcastle, Gosforth is a metropolitan suburb that still has a close-knit small-town vibe. Traditional country pubs, welcoming cafes with art deco stained-glass, pizzerias overlooking pleasant parks filled with playing children.

Your new house has easy access to Newcastle City Centre, great schools and the seven-acre park, home to a racecourse, two golf courses and a nature reserve, all close to your new build. The Regent Centre is a commercial hub providing excellent employment from many of Britain’s best-known brands. Plus, the A1 with easy links to London and the North, is just down the road.

Easy journeys

This leafy suburb of Newcastle-upon-Tyne is to the north of the City Centre, with the great A1, the inner-city A167 and the A1058 coast road, all nearby. There are three Tyne and Wear Metro stations: South Gosford, Regent Centre and Wansbeck Road all close to your new house. The regular train service can have you into the city centre in under 15 minutes. There's an excellent local bus service connecting you with villages and suburbs throughout the area. And for holidays and business trips, Newcastle International Airport is just six miles away, or a convenient 30-minute journey by train.

Everything you need on the doorstep

The local Shopping Centre and the Kenton Retail Park are both near your new build and will keep you going with day-to-day basics. There are a number of small supermarkets and convenience stores, but a short drive will take you to a superstore.

Your new house has so many nurseries, primary schools and middle schools to choose from. The Leisure Centre has a great gym, classes and includes a swimming pool. For outdoor sports, the Golf Club and the City of Newcastle Golf Club are both on the edge of town. The Town Moor is the greatest green space around, featuring 1000 acres of protected land - where Europe’s largest travelling fair is held each year. A little further out, there’s even more green space for you to enjoy from home, with High Park and the Nature Reserve.

Nightlife just a train away

Gosforth has the famous nightlife and energy of Newcastle-upon-Tyne right on your doorstep. The Metro train system runs late into the night, so you never have to worry about the last train. Start early and fit in a bit of retail therapy in the exclusive Northumberland Street and the Eldon Square Shopping Centre. Your only a short drive from the Intu Centre at Gateshead with an Odeon Cinema, an IMAX Digital, ten-pin bowling, dodgems and soft-play.

If you'd like to sink your toes in golden sands, head to the beach at South Shields, Tynemouth or Whitley Bay - all a very easy drive from your new house. For tranquillity, walking, biking or a mooch around the sculpture park, head to the Kielder Forest Park and the open spaces of Northumberland.
