There is a variety of shops from traditional local retailers through to big brand name stores - many located at the Washington Square Shopping Centre. Road and rail network
A new house here gives you access to the A595 coastal road which runs between Carlisle (30 miles) to the north and Kirkby-in-Furness (43 miles) to the south. The A66 is the wonderfully scenic route from the town through Keswick (22 miles) and the Lake District, to the M6 junction (38 miles) at Penrith and then onto Swaledale.
TransPennine Express and Avanti West Coast are the train operators for services from Workington station, getting you from your new home to Carlisle in about 50 minutes. Stagecoach is the bus operator for the area, linking the villages surrounding Workington with services to Cockermouth and Keswick.
