Worthing is one of the largest towns on the South Coast, between Brighton and Bognor Regis. It’s big on family-friendly amenities, not least because of its award-winning 5-mile beach.
The partnership between the residential community, the visitor economy and the thriving service industry economy here has created an excellent range of facilities and amenities for the benefit of all. From local shops to seafront amusements, from road and rail connections, from business parks to pleasure parks, Worthing is a great match for a wide range of homebuyers.
For all the practical aspects of day-to-day living in Worthing, it’s also a cheerful and attractive setting. The beautiful period properties in the old heart of the town give it its celebrated character and the long promenade, pier and pebbled beach create a hometown day out, any day you choose.
Why choose a home here?
Seaside living is always going to be a bonus. Worthing is large enough to add all the amenities and facilities that you could want for a growing family, for young professionals and for down-sizers. There’s excellent shopping, a great choice of schools and regular train services to London. You can head to Brighton for the bright lights or into the South Downs National Park for its Dark Sky Reserve status.
Worthing is well-connected by road and rail. The A27 is the main coastal route, becoming the M27 just outside Portsmouth, which is also the start of the A3(M). A bit further along the coast, the M3 sets off from Southampton. You’ll only be 35 miles from Gatwick Airport via the A27 and A23 and the train link takes under an hour. Regular train services to London via Brighton take around an hour and a half.
Out of town
You’ll be spoilt for choice for days out with the family. Petworth House and Park in the South Downs is the perfect place for a picnic, Arundel has a spectacular castle as well as lovely riverside walks, Chichester Harbour is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a special place for bird-watchers – as well as for sailors of course – and if you want to find less crowded, sandy beaches you can head for East Wittering.
