Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury is an attractive market town with a pleasant array of half timbered Tudor houses arranged around cobbled streets, just nine miles from the Welsh border. Set in the rolling hills of the Shropshire countryside, your new home is close to the great outdoors, but also at the heart of a charming and dynamic community.

From your quality new build, you can enjoy quality of life with lovely river front cafes and restaurants as well as excellent shopping with independent vendors, high street shops and boutiques. There are also listed buildings, a cathedral and acres of parks and green spaces. Every year the town enjoys a packed calendar of events including the sumptuous Regatta and dazzling flower show. The town also has beautiful gardens – one designed by the late Percy Thrower – and excellent independent and state schools. Choosing a new house in Shrewsbury gives you it all.

Great road links from your new build

The A5 hugs the south of Shrewsbury, bypassing the town and offering great links to Telford (17 miles), Wolverhampton (32 miles) and onto Birmingham (48 miles) which is around an hour's drive. Take the scenic A458 to the west, and you could be eating icecream and building sandcastles in Barmouth (65 miles) in less than 90 minutes. Leave your new build and take the A49 south and you could be in Ludlow (30 miles), Leominster (41 miles) or Hereford (54 miles) before you know it!

Close to your new home, there is a very handy railway station with services into Wales and across the Midlands. Trains to Chester and Birmingham will take around an hour, or into London could take around 2.5 hours. Arriva busses operate services in the area, and to Telford, Oswestry and some of the other outlying towns and villages.

High energy fun for everyone

Your new home in this pleasant town is full of history and culture, but also entertainment. Head to the Quarry from your new build and enjoy walks along the riverside park, a playground, and splash park. If having a new house in Shrewsbury makes you want to jump for joy, head to the Jump In Trampoline Park. Watch the latest blockbuster at Cineworld Cinema or smash it at AMF Bowling. With this much entertainment in town, you shouldn't be climbing the walls - unless you want to - and Climbing the Walls, a state-of-the-art indoor climbing centre, can oblige.
