Enjoy a superb quality of life with essential amenities in walking distance, fantastic eateries and shops a few minutes’ drive away, and the glorious Peak District National Park on your doorstep.
Family-friendly facilities make this a great place to raise children, along with attractions including outdoor adventure centres and museums dedicated to the industrial history of the area. All of this, plus a commutable distance to some of the region’s main centres of employment, make this a hugely desirable setting for a new home.
Despite its rural location on the edge of a National Park, Whitworth Dale is conveniently close to a range of services and shops in Darley Dale. Step out of your house and you’ll be just seconds from a Co-op Food, SPAR, Post Office, medical centre, garden centre, café and community events centre – it really couldn’t be more convenient! For a wider range of amenities, drive two miles into pretty Matlock to discover numerous eateries, high street stores, pubs and eateries.
Just a 10-minute drive will take you to the heart of the Peak District, full of breathtaking vistas and idyllic villages such as Bakewell (13 minutes from Whitworth Dale). When you’re not hiking, kayaking, cycling or caving through the landscape, there’s a host of activities to enjoy in nearby Matlock and Matlock Bath. Gullivers’ Kingdom Theme Park, Matlock Bath Aquarium, the Peak District Mining Museum and Matlock Boats and Train will provide hours of entertainment. A visit to fascinating Cromford Mills is a must, as is a trip on a steam locomotive at Peak Rail (0.3 miles away).
Children of all ages are catered for here, with Darley Dale Primary School, Pre-school and Nursery just 0.9 miles from the development. A short drive away in Matlock you’ll find several more primary schools plus Highfields Secondary School, while 6.3 miles away in Bakewell there’s another secondary school.
