Green light for 97 new homes at Ketts Meadow
16 October 2026
A new phase of development a Hethersett has been given the go ahead after receiving approval from South Norfolk Council, forming part of the wider vision for Hethersett North.
The decision paves the way for the Anglia region to build 97 new energy efficient homes on land north of Hethersett Village Centre.
The new phase will provide a range of homes, including 61 private homes, 31 affordable homes for those in housing need locally and five self-build plots to help broaden choice for local buyers. The development will offer a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes to meet local need.
Designed to create a well-connected and attractive neighbourhood, our scheme includes extensive landscaping, public open space, biodiversity enhancements and a high-quality street scene. The plans also retain and enhance green infrastructure across the site, with a biodiversity net gain delivered through both on-site and off-site measures.
The wider development at Hethersett North is also delivering a new school, retail outlets, healthcare facility land and public open space. The proposals also include the retention of existing hedgerows and trees where possible, alongside new planting and habitat creation to support biodiversity.
Debi Sherman, Planning Director at Persimmon Homes Anglia, said: "We are delighted to have secured approval for this latest phase of Ketts Meadow, which will deliver a high-quality mix of homes for local people, including affordable housing and self-build opportunities.
"Hethersett continues to be a highly desirable location and this new phase has been carefully designed to create an attractive, sustainable neighbourhood that integrates seamlessly with the wider Hethersett North development.
"Alongside delivering much-needed new homes, the scheme will provide extensive landscaping, public open space and biodiversity enhancements, helping to create a thriving community for current and future residents. We look forward to progressing construction and welcoming future residents to Ketts Meadow."
