Muddy puddles galore after we support popular Outdoor Learning Centre in West Northants

15 October 2026

An outdoor learning centre in West Northamptonshire will be able to welcome a new generation of nature lovers following a donation from us.

Our Midlands region has donated £1,000 towards the Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre near Daventry after some outdoor clothing was becoming dated.

Set in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre has been supporting children and young people for over 50 years to learn beyond the classroom.

From studying local ecosystems and wildlife to taking part in orienteering, navigation and team-building activities, the centre provides experiences that connect children and young people with nature by exploring woodlands, ponds, rivers and meadows.

The donation from Persimmon Homes Midlands, which has major developments at Towcester Grange, Harlestone Grange and Dallington Grange, will be used to provide new wellies and waterproofs at the Centre.

Paul Stones, Technical Director for Persimmon Homes Midlands said “We at Persimmon Homes value being good neighbours and contributing to communities where we are building. So we’re obviously thrilled to be able to support the Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre continue to provide young people in West Northants access to nature.

“I’m proud that this is just the latest of thousands of pounds of community contributions we’ve made throughout Northamptonshire, alongside our own Community Champions scheme – which I urge any community group looking for support to apply for.”

Cllr Nigel Stansfield, Cabinet Member for Environment, Recycling and Waste added “Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre is a vital resource for local children and community groups, giving them access to a rural setting to understand more about nature, wildlife and the local environment.

“We’re very grateful to Persimmon Homes Midlands for this donation, which will be used for much needed wellies and waterproofs at the centre to ensure children and young people can continue to enjoy Everdon in comfort during all weathers.”
