There are plenty of things to do and places to explore in the local area. Churwell Park has panoramic views over the city, Middleton Park has over 600 acres of open space, woodland and a lake and the Morley Leisure Centre is just over a mile away. For rainy days the Showcase Cinema de Lux Leeds is a short drive to the south, close to Junction 27 of the M62 and if you want to be more energetic Planet Ice is only 2 miles away. For a trip out of town, Morley is just about halfway between the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the north and the Peak District National Park to the south.

Good local schooling

As this is a popular residential area, there's a great choice of schools nearby for families with children. These include Cottingley Primary Academy, Churwell Primary School, Elliott Hudson College and The Morley Academy.

Shopping and entertainment

Laneside has everything you need nearby. The White Rose Shopping Centre, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Tesco Express are under 2 miles from the development. For your new home, there’s an IKEA close to Junction 27 of the M62. For a day out in Leeds, Briggate is the main shopping area, the Victoria Quarter is the up-market shopping destination and Leeds Kirkgate Market is one of the largest indoor and outdoor markets in Europe! To complete a day out, Leeds has a fantastic choice of independent restaurants, adding atmosphere to the city’s buzzing nightlife.

Travel plans

The A361 is an easy link from Morley to Junction 27 of the M62, the key east-west route across the county. Leeds city centre is less than 5 miles away, and you can head in by train from the local stations at Cottingley or Morley. It takes about 12 minutes to get into Leeds and less than 30 minutes to Huddersfield. From Leeds, the journey to Manchester takes under an hour, to Liverpool it’s about 2 hours and to London the fast train takes about 2.5 hours. West Yorkshire also has the asset of the Leeds Bradford International Airport. It’s about 12 miles from your new home.
