2022 interior trends to look out for
Interior designer and Persimmon ambassador Christopher John of @cji_design shares some of his interior style predictions for 2022.
Chris bought his Persimmon home relishing the way he could use his own interior design ideas. "It’s my blank canvas to inject my design style into and explore my love for interiors. Each room has its own identity while still being able to tell a story throughout linking the spaces in some way."
1. Keep the peace
2022 is all about natural, harmonising colours in our homes. Grey-greens promoting calm and relaxation, and earthy browns and terracottas giving us warmth and comfort.
@ourludlowbythewater is full of beautiful calming grey-green tones
2. Colour your home happy
Blue is looking like it will be popular, especially when it comes to bedrooms – symbolising the sky and the ocean which stimulates relaxation. Yellows such as ‘Babouche’ by Farrow & Ball will celebrate our moving towards a more normal happier life again.
Relaxing blue is a great choice for bedrooms, as demonstrated by @thehousewiththepinkbed
3. A celebration of life
It’s clear to see the styles that will be on-trend are all about renewing, returning and growing towards a happier way of life again. It’s time to celebrate our life through the interiors of our homes and create pockets of happy, exciting, memory-making spaces we can enjoy.
With more social times (hopefully) on the horizon, create spaces where you can make memories @no5_ourleicesterhome_
4. Let nature in
2022 will be focussed on creating more soothing, calming natural-inspired spaces. Very botanical, bringing the outdoors in, with whitewash accents and upcycled furniture. This is known as ‘biophilic design’ – bringing a connection with the natural environment.

5. Sustainable style
Finally, there will also be a HUGE emphasis on how the big and small brands can do their bit to help climate change. Sustainability will be key, with the continued use of organic materials across the board.
It's time for brands and homeowners to continue the shift towards sustainability @from_hatfield_to_home
