Pontarddulais
Pontarddulais is a thriving town, surrounded by lush countryside, with plenty of green spaces, parks and playgrounds. The town grew out of the copper industry and today is famous for its Male Voice Choir and 100-year-old brass band.
Living here gives you access to well-regarded schools, a GP and a leisure centre with a gym and pool. There's a flourishing high street with good selection of shops, cafes and pubs, as well as a choice of two supermarkets.

Easy travel by road and rail
One of the best things about your new home is the M4 is barely a mile away. That means travel is made easy. Cardiff is 53 miles and Newport 66 miles, while further travel to the Severn Bridge is 80 miles. Head west, and you can be in Haverfordwest (48 miles) via the A40 at Carmarthen (18 miles) in as little as 70 minutes. The A4138 can have you paddling in the sea at Llanelli in under 10 minutes, while the A4067 can have you walking in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park in as little as 20 minutes. The town’s train station is on the Heart of Wales Line with the average journey time to Swansea being around 40 minutes
Shops close by
From your new build, you’ll have a good range of local shops and convenience stores close to hand. There is a big supermarket and an even bigger choice of shops and supermarkets in Llanelli and Gorseinon. Swansea gives you all the high street brands, as well as entertainment venues, cafés, restaurants and nightlife - all in under half an hour's drive.
Embrace the great outdoors
Just down the road from your Pontarddulais new build, the Llanelli WWT National Wetland Centre is a fantastic wildlife haven with the added bonus of cycling trails, canoeing (in the summer), hiking and plenty of play areas. Grab your mountain bike and head to the Lliw Reservoir for a ride around its cool blue waters, through the forest and on to the moors. If you have relaxing in mind, the Gower Peninsula starts at The Mumbles and has a stunning 19-mile-long coastline with some famous beaches including Rhossily Bay. And if it rains, there's always the five-screen Odean in Llanelli or shopping in the entertainment-packed Swansea.
