Persimmon helps vulnerable stay warm this winter

A day care centre that provides warm meals, social activities and hot baths for older and disabled residents has been given a donation towards a new boiler by our East midlands region.
The Meadows Day Centre in Spalding, which supports around 100 people each week, applied for a donation through Persimmon Homes’ Community Champion scheme as they fundraised for a new boiler, and were awarded a grant of £1,000.
Maisie Wenham, part of the Meadows management team, said: “It is essential for us to have a working boiler, otherwise we cannot open our doors to our clients.
“We are grateful to Persimmon for the donation which has helped pay for the replacement and ensure we can continue offering our services to our clients and ensure they can benefit from the services we offer.”
The Meadows gives clients a chance to socialise with their peers, enjoy crafts and activities and even offers assisted bathing for those who can no longer access their baths at homes. Their services allow clients to retain their independence and live at home for longer, while also giving their families and carers the support they need.
Amy Rowlands, Sales Director for East Midlands, said: “We are all about building communities at Persimmon Homes and that means supporting charities like The Meadows, ensuring they can continue to provide much-needed care to their clients.”
