Local bus services, with routes across the town, link to Milton Keynes, Northampton, Wellingborough and Market Harborough. And for international travel you have five airports, all within a 2-hour drive: Heathrow, Luton, East Midlands, Birmingham and Stansted.

Full of family-friendly amenities, the town has a wide range of local and big-brand shops, weekly markets, leisure venues, schools, parks and playgrounds.

There are independent shops, cafés and restaurants in the historic Cultural Quarter, plus the bustling high street has a range of well-known retailers and department stores.

School days

As well as a good range of primary schools, Kettering has four secondary schools: Bishop Stopford School, Kettering Science Academy, Kettering Buccleuch Academy and Southfield School for Girls. 

There’s also an arts college, Latimer Arts College, nearby in the village of Barton Seagrave. And for sixth form opportunities, the Tresham College of Further Education has one of its three campuses in the town.
