Pollokshaws

Pollokshaws has been enjoying a significant regeneration in recent years replacing 1960s housing with beautiful new developments in keeping with the Victorian legacy of the borough. Located to the south of Glasgow city centre, this lovely leafy suburb has bags of character and is the perfect place to buy a new home.

There are plenty of architectural gems to add to the red sandstone tenements, clock tower and quirky round toll house. Aside from having the largest municipal park, complete with a bowling club, the country park also contains the Burrell Collection - a bespoke gallery displaying decorative arts, tapestries and glass. If you ever feel the need to shop or have a big night out, head north, over the River Clyde and into the town centre via the M77 - it takes just 15 minutes.

Living in Pollokshaws

Shopping and fun are conveniently nearby

The great thing about a new house in Pollokshaws is that you don't have to go into the centre to do your shopping, simply head to the Silverburn Retail centre for a great range of shops, restaurants, a cinema and a large supermarket. Everything in one place! Right on your doorstep you’ve got the Pollok Country Park. It’s a great amenity for all the family to enjoy, with mountain biking trails - you can hire a bike if you don’t have your own - riverside walks, picnic areas, play areas and even roaming Highland cattle.

Well-connected for travel

Driving from your new build into the City Centre takes about 16 minutes via the M77. If you want to let the train take the strain, you can get to the centre in just 10 minutes - and there are 68 trains a day! If you'd like to jump on the bus, they run every 12 minutes and get you into the heart of the beautiful Georgian city in just a few minutes. Perfect for work, shopping, restaurants, and education.

Regional parks, beaches and travel

The M77 close to your new house has a dual purpose. As well as taking you into the city, it can whisk you south to Ayrshire’s dramatic coast and beaches for a change of scenery overlooking the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran. From Irvine, you can follow the coastal A78 all the way back home along a wonderfully scenic route that takes in the Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park.
