On the go
Junction 9 of the M23 is just a mile south of Horley, serving the town and the airport together. It heads directly north to join Junction 7 of the M25. To the south it becomes the A23 into Brighton, 30 miles away. You’re right on the Surrey and West Sussex border, and a network of local routes link with the A24 Leatherhead to Worthing road and the A22 Purley to Eastbourne road. Metrobus routes makes sure you are connected with the local towns and villages, including Crawley, East Grinstead, Caterham, Guildford, Epsom, Leatherhead, and of course Gatwick Airport. Train services are operated by Southern Trains, on the Brighton mainline, connecting you with London Victoria in 40 – 50 minutes.
In the town
Horley has the ideal balance of its own business and commercial economy, a busy high street, historic buildings, good local schools, leafy residential areas and plenty of public green spaces to enjoy. It’s a great town for practical and leisure shopping, with high street brands, independent stores, Waitrose and Lidl. The Horley Leisure Centre will keep all the family on the go. There are plenty of nursery and primary schools to choose from, and the town’s secondary school, Oakwood School, has been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
Out and about
The Surrey and Sussex countryside is gorgeous. You’ve got Box Hill in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in one direction, and Royal Tunbridge Wells and the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the other. For those rainy days, the Cineworld Cinema and the County Mall Shopping Centre in Crawley will be a good distraction.
