Well connected

Within easy reach of Taunton, Bridgewater, Yeovil – half an hour by car – the town is the meeting point for two of the area’s key A routes – and you have the M5 and the A303 close by which connects you to the South Coast and North alike. 

For travel by rail, Taunton, Bridgewater, Yeovil all have mainline train stations, as does Crewkerne. Plus, First Buses Somerset provides regular routes. Bristol is your nearest international airport, 30 miles to the north and it takes about an hour to drive there.

History, culture and riverside views 

The town’s great asset – the River Parrett – offers miles of riverside walks along the Parrett Trail. Where you can take in the ancient ruins of Muchelney Abbey, just outside the town, and get a feel for the unique Somerset Levels. There’s also a much-loved seasonal river boat for family trips, and it’s a great river for kayaking and paddle boarding. 

Taunton, Bridgwater and Yeovil offer brilliant indoor entertainment options and leisure centres facilities. And for a bit of history and alternative culture, Glastonbury is just up the road, plus the cathedral city of Wells has a wonderful market that’s a great place to have a wander.
