Living in Eastwood

Easy travel with the M1

Nottingham city centre is just half an hour by car, directly via the A610. The M1 is also close by, which connects you to the North and London (and is under three hours away).

Bus services into Nottingham take about 40 minutes, with additional services connecting the other local towns and villages. You can also catch a train from Langley Mill a little over a mile away, for services to Nottingham, Sheffield, Chesterfield and Manchester. For air travel, the East Midlands Airport is a half-hour journey by car.

Family-friendly amenities

As well as plenty of local amenities including smaller local shops, retail parks and larger supermarkets, you’ve got big-city shopping with Nottingham an easy distance away. Eastwood also enjoys an abundance of outdoor facilities and parks, including a skate park, adventure play area, cricket ground and a sports pavilion.

For education opportunities, there are five primary schools for you to choose from (depending on your catchment area): Brookhill Leys, Greasley Beauvale, Lynncroft, The Priory Catholic Primary School and Springbank. There’s also Hall Park Academy for secondary school tuition.

Epic days out in nature

For a day out further afield, you’ve got Shipley Country Park (all 700 acres of it), with 20 miles of paths for walking and biking, plus fishing and horse riding. Nottingham’s Wollaton Park and the Holme Pierrepont Country Park – which is home of the National Water Sports Centre – offer beautiful green space and activities for all ages. For epic views head for the Peak District, which is accessible in under an hour.
