£13,000 raised for men’s mental health charity

A charity golf day held by Persimmon Homes South Midlands has raised more than £13,000 for a national men’s mental health charity through a charity golf day.

Teams from Persimmon were joined by suppliers and contractors, including McAuliffes, MV Kelly and Barnes Building Services at Little Aston Golf Club near Sutton Coldfield. The day also included a raffle and silent auction, all in aid of the great work of StrongMen.

StrongMen is the UK’s leading men’s grief support charity. It supports those going through the devastating impact of grief through talks, phone-based peer support and weekend retreats.

The successful golf day was the latest of the housebuilder’s charity golf days, which have raised £35,000 for charities in recent years, for causes including Parkinson’s UK and the Myton Hospice. It also adds to the £170 raised for the charity so far this year through the Studley office’s Dress Down Fridays.

So I am delighted that we were able to raise over £13,000 through the kind donations of our suppliers and contractors, it’s an incredible achievement.

“I hope this money can make a real difference through the amazing team at StrongMen and I want to thank all those who made the day such a great success.”
