Chris Tate at Hampton Park phase 5 development

Site manager Chris Tate is celebrating after being named one of the top in the country in the latest round of Pride in the Job Awards.

Having taken over at Persimmon Homes’ Hampton Park community in Littlehampton just a year ago, Chris quickly made a significant impact by driving up standards. He consistently delivers first-class homes that meet the high expectations of his customers.

He has been named a Pride in the Job 2026 Quality Award winner by the NHBC. The awards are the most highly regarded within the construction industry and a prestigious benchmark. Chris and the other Quality Award winners will now go forward to the Seal of Excellence Award round to find the Regional Award winner before the final Pride in the Job Supreme Awards in January.

Chris is closely involved in every aspect of the development, ensuring high standards are maintained across all plots. He inspects each home under construction daily, working closely with tradespeople to ensure every property meets his exacting standards at every stage of the build.

The award-winning site manager said: “I’m a hands-on manager and I make sure I know each plot inside out. I’m on site every day checking in with trades to ensure we’re delivering the quality our customers expect and deserve.

“One of my biggest focuses is good housekeeping – keeping the site clean, organised and well-managed. It gives people pride in their work and shows attention to detail from the moment you step onto site.”

Dan Castle, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes Thames Valley said: “Chris’s achievement highlights Persimmon Homes Thames Valley’s continued commitment to delivering well-built homes, supporting customers and creating developments that communities can be proud of.

“I want to congratulate Chris and thank him for his dedication. He has played a pivotal role in making Hampton Park one of our flagship sites and a true beacon for how we should be building homes – with quality, care and our customers at the heart of everything we do.”
