Community donation helps local young people dive into new adventures in Warwick

Persimmon Homes South Midlands has donated £2,000 to 2nd Warwick Sea Scouts through its Community Champions scheme, helping local young people continue to enjoy safe and exciting adventures on the River Avon.

The group supports over 240 young people across its Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer sections, offering a range of activities that build confidence, teamwork and valuable life skills through outdoor adventure and learning.

The funding has enabled the Scouts to purchase a new Honwave coaching and safety boat, which will provide essential safety cover and support weekly water-based activities, including canoeing, kayaking, rowing, stand-up paddleboarding and sailing,

Viv Bosworth, Trustee Board Chair of 2nd Warwick Sea Scouts, commented:

"We are incredibly grateful to Persimmon Homes for this generous grant, which has enabled us to purchase a new coaching and safety boat.

This will help us to continue providing safe, enjoyable on-water experiences for our local young members and support our volunteer leaders in delivering effective coaching for many years to come."
