Fair City Munchkins Day Nursery has received a boost from Persimmon Homes North Scotland, whose staff and contractors donated materials and handmade play equipment.
Fair City Munchkins Day Nursery in Perth has received a generous donation of materials and handmade play items from Persimmon Homes North Scotland, helping to transform its construction-themed play area for local children.
The initiative was led by Bexs Thompson, a Customer Care Coordinator at Persimmon Homes, whose son Mason attends the nursery. After touring the nursery and learning about their plans to improve the construction area, Bexs was inspired to help make it a reality.
Located just five minutes from Persimmon’s North Scotland head office, the nursery has now benefited from a range of donations provided by Persimmon and its contractors, including shovels, hard hats, wheelbarrows, hi-vis vests, safety goggles, signage, and bark chippings.
To add an extra special touch, Persimmon’s joiners also crafted bespoke wooden troughs for the children to play and build in, bringing the construction experience to life.
As part of the visit, the nursery also received copies of ‘Cones and Building Homes’ — a children’s book commissioned by Persimmon Homes to promote health and safety awareness around construction sites. Bexs and her team further contributed Persimmon-themed colouring books, allowing children to design and decorate their own dream homes.
The donation was personally delivered by Bexs and Customer Care Joiner Gary, who helped set up the new play area with the nursery team.
Bexs Thompson, Customer Care Coordinator at Persimmon Homes North Scotland, said:
“It’s been so rewarding to support Fair City Munchkins and see how excited the children are about their new construction zone. As both a parent and a Persimmon employee, I’m proud that we’ve been able to leave a small legacy with a local nursery right on our doorstep.”
James MacKay, Persimmon North Scotland Managing Director, said:
“This is a fantastic example of our people giving back to the community. We’re proud to see colleagues like Bexs taking the initiative to make a difference locally — helping young children learn through play while also strengthening our community links here in Perth.”
The project forms part of Persimmon’s wider commitment to supporting local communities and early learning, with every regional business encouraged to make a positive impact close to home.
