A Northamptonshire pre-school has secured a £5,000 donation from Persimmon Homes Midlands towards a new kitchen at its Sywell premises.
Sywell and Overstone and Pre-School are raising funds to upgrade their existing kitchen so they can continue to run cooking and baking activities for the children.
The charity was established 40 years ago and originally operated out of the local village hall before moving to existing premises in Holcot Lane, Sywell.
Nicola Egleton, Pre-School Manager at Sywell and Overstone Pre-School said: We have been raising funds for some time through a series of events but this donation from Persimmon is really going to help us in reaching our target. The children love to cook and bake, and we can’t wait to provide some new and upgraded facilities which will provide a much nicer environment.”
Claire Dearsley, Sales Director at Midlands said: “We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local charities. Learning to cook and bake, even at an early age, is such an important skill and we are delighted to support Sywell and Overstone Pre-School and look forward to seeing what the children cook up.”
