Latest approval for major Weston housing development

The housebuilder behind the popular Haywood Village scheme in Weston-super-Mare has secured planning permission for the latest phase at the site.

Persimmon Homes Severn Valley reserved matters application was awarded consent by North Somerset Council, paving the way for construction of the latest parcel of 142 high-quality new homes, 67 of which will be under its new Persimmon Signature banner.

The zero carbon-ready homes are a part of the wider regeneration scheme at the former Weston Airfield, which will soon deliver a new school building, opening later this year, and sport pitches in 2027.

The Haywood Village site in the town is set to deliver 2,500 new homes and includes the construction of two new primary schools, one of which is due to open next month, and a local centre. Persimmon’s sister company, Charles Church, also has an outlet at the site, which secured a highly commended Development of the Year prize at the Premier Guarantee Excellence Award in 2025.

The accredited five-star housebuilder currently has homes available to purchase on the open market at Haywood Village from £250,000. Charles Church, also has four-bed, premium homes for sale on its outlet, available from £465,000.
