Persimmon Homes East Scotland hosts gala fundraiser for SAMH in Glasgow

Persimmon Homes East Scotland has raised £107,000 in a single evening for the Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH), the business’s Charity of the Year.

The glitzy gala dinner was held at the Hilton in Glasgow and featured a packed evening of entertainment hosted by comedian Jo Caulfield, with a special guest appearance from boxing legend Frank Bruno who was interviewed on the night by television presenter Ben Shires. Guests were also treated to live music from Carbon Copy.

As well as fundraising, the event celebrated the achievements of Persimmon’s valued subcontractors through a dedicated awards ceremony, recognising their role in helping deliver the new communities Scotland needs. The winners on the night were:

  • Health, Safety & Environment Contractor of 2025 – JN Dunn
  • Supplier of 2025 – Scotia Windows
  • Sales Business Partner of 2025 – First Mortgage
  • Customer Service Partner of 2025 – EMC Roofing
  • Sub-Contractor of 2025 – Advance Construction Services

The incredible total will support SAMH’s vital work across Scotland, promoting mental health and wellbeing, and providing care and support to those who need it most.

Laura Still, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes East Scotland, said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to have raised such a significant amount for SAMH in just one night. Mental health is an issue that touches so many people’s lives, and the work that SAMH does across Scotland is truly invaluable.

“This event brought together our staff, subcontractors, and partners to not only celebrate achievements but also make a real difference for an amazing cause. I’d like to thank everyone who contributed to making the evening such a success.”

Billy Watson, SAMH Chief Executive, said:

“I would like to sincerely thank everyone at Persimmon for their outstanding fundraising efforts, which have raised a truly remarkable amount, £107,000! Their commitment and generosity will make a real and lasting difference, enabling us to continue delivering vital services and support to people across Scotland.

“At SAMH, we are committed to working closely with organisations across the construction industry to raise awareness and support good mental health and wellbeing practises. We deeply value our ongoing partnership with Persimmon and look forward to building on the strong foundation we’ve created together.”

As Persimmon Homes East Scotland’s Charity of the Year, SAMH has already benefitted from a wide range of fundraising activities organised by staff and subcontractors. The gala dinner marks the latest effort in an ongoing commitment to raising vital funds and awareness for the charity throughout the year.
